Ainslie 1

The Majura District Playing Field (Ainslie Ground 1) and Majura Enclosed Oval (Ainslie Ground 2), are located in Angas Street Ainslie and are bounded by Limestone Avenue to the west and Wakefield Avenue to the south. There is generous provision for parking at the grounds. The Ainslie Football Club sits opposite the grounds and the Ainslie shopping centre is a short 5 minute walk away. Both grounds are irrigated with recycled water from the North Canberra Water Reuse Scheme.
The Enclosed Ground is used for grade cricket in the summer and is the first grade ground for North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club. In the winter months the ground has over the past few years been used for Premier League Football by the Olympic Club and most recently for first grade Rugby League by the Gungahlin Bulls. In 2007 the Majura Enclosed Oval was officially named the Keith Tournier Memorial Oval. Keith Tournier was a tireless volunteer for both the North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club and the Majura Junior Soccer Club.
The Enclosed Ground has a covered grandstand that seats approximately 150, a toilet block, and a pavilion with change rooms and a canteen. There is a second toilet block that has shared access with the District Playing Field (DPF) outside. The enclosed ground is encircled by large mature trees and offers good shade in summer.
The DPF is used for junior AFL by the Ainslie Junior AFL Club, for Minkey Hockey in winter and for Baseball in summer by the Ainslie Baseball Club-the Bears. There is also a social six-a-side soccer competition that runs year round. The DPF has a canteen block and shares a toilet block with the enclosed ground.
