Safe Waters ACT
The ACT Government developed the Safe Waters ACT Framework in its efforts to assist the prevention of drowning and near drowning incidences in the ACT. The Framework is designed to provide better coordination of water safety programs and, where needs are identified, develop partnerships on projects to address these.
The document “ACT Water Safety Working Party, Action Plan 2004 – 2007” is a companion document to the Framework and has been produced to ensure that the strategies are put into practice.
The 2004 – 2007 Action Plan has been developed and agreed upon by the members of the Water Safety Working Party. It details actions for implementing the Framework, including responsibilities, partnerships and timeframes. The Action Plan is intended as a living document that will be constantly amended as needs change. It will be regularly monitored and updated.
