ACTAS Baseball Program Scholarships
The ACT Academy of Sport Baseball Program (also known as National Training Centres) is/are a partnership between ABF, the ACTBA and the ACT Government through the ACT Academy of Sport (ACTAS).
The ACTAS NTC Baseball Program is conducted as part of the ABF national development pathway. It is acknowledged by all partners that the overall strategic direction for the ACTAS / NTC Baseball Program is determined by ABF and that ACTAS and the ACTBA are responsible for implementing the program taking into account local factors.
The prime focus of the ACTAS Baseball program is to support the ongoing highly specialised training of the nation’s elite youth baseball athletes so that they can progress from the train to compete (MLBAAP, SIS/SAS Network, U18/16 State Team programs) to the next level of train to win (National Team, pro-ball, College ball, AAA/AA National team) within the ABF national development pathway.

- Identify talented players and assist them to reach international performance standard;
- Provide a pathway for talented players; and
- Expand the development opportunities for Australian coaches to ensure players are provided with coaching of the highest possible standard.
ACTAS Baseball Program Aims

- The provision of support to improve the skills and fitness levels of players progressing through the program into national squads and teams or overseas scholarships/contracts.
- To complement the Major League Baseball Australian Academy program.
ACTAS Baseball Program Focus
- The prime focus of the ACTAS Baseball program is to support the ongoing highly specialised training of the nation’s elite youth baseball athletes so that they can progress from the train to compete (MLBAAP, SIS/SAS Network, U18/16 State Team programs) to the next level of train to win (National Team, pro-ball, College ball, AAA/AA National team) within the ABF national development pathway and potentially support the local Canberra ABL team.
