Equine Event Registration

An ‘event’ is a gathering of 10 or more equines, or any number of equines from 3 or more properties and where the animals are moved to the event and back to their premises of origin within 5 days. This includes pony club gymkhanas, training schools, entertainment for public viewing, 3 day events, dressage, showjumping, endurance and race meetings weekly pony club rally days, track work, training.

You can voluntarily register your event with the Department of Territory and Municipal Services before you hold your event. Registering an event will assist in compiling information should a disease outbreak occur.

Both the Equine Event Registration Form and Participant Pro-forma ( PDF 17Kb) should be kept by the event organisers for 30 days after the event and be available to be shown to a person authorised under the Animal Diseases Act on request.
