Movable Signs

It is an offence to place or keep a movable sign in a public place other than in accordance with the Removable Signs Code of Practice as established by the Roads and Public Places Act 1937. The City Rangers enforce the Removable Signs Code of Practice which applies to, but is not restricted to:

(a) business signs (movable advertising signs placed by businesses);
(b) real estate signs (movable signs placed to advertise properties for sale and/or open for exhibition);
(c) community signs (movable signs placed by charities, schools and community groups to advertise temporary events); and
(d) electoral advertising signs (movable signs containing any printed electoral matter )
