Cleaning and Horticulture Maintenance

Parks, Conservation and Lands is responsible for the horticultural maintenance and cleaning of urban open space. This includes mowing, weed removal, vegetation management including the control of pest plants and diseases, the removal of litter and rubbish and the sweeping and cleaning of pedestrian pavements in areas such as suburban shopping centres and City Centre. The horticultural maintenance and cleaning of Canberra's urban open space is undertaken on a regional basis. Parks, Conservation and Lands is also responsible for managing urban lakes and ponds, excluding Lake Burley Griffin.
