Australian Alps Cooperative Management Program

The Australian Alps national parks stretch from Canberra through the Brindabella Range in the ACT, the Snowy Mountains of NSW and along the Great Dividing Range through Victoria. A tri-state cooperative management program for the Australian Alps, administered by the Australian Alps Liaison Committee (AALC), seeks to achieve excellence in conservation management and sustainable use through a strong program of cross-border cooperation. The agencies that are parties to the Memorandum of Understanding are NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Environment ACT, Parks Victoria and Environment Australia.
The agencies within the program cooperate in establishing best practice management to protect the scenery, water catchments, and natural and cultural heritage of the Australian Alps, while providing the opportunities for the public appreciation and sustainable enjoyment of our parks.
