Events on Unleased Territory Land
All events and activities conducted on unleased Territory Land regardless of their size or complexity, requires approval. This includes large private functions or organised community events held in any public areas in the ACT, including the City Centre and suburban shopping areas or any of the urban parks, reserves or forest areas.

How to Apply
For smaller events such as Weddings, Private functions or charitable collections, that are expected to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment or other activities in the area, the application should be lodged at least two weeks before you make any commitments.
For larger events such as Markets, Festivals, Rallies or large community group activities that may impact on the surrounding environment or other activities in the area, the application should be lodged in time for other agencies or the general public to be notified and for you to adjust the proposal according to feedback from any affected parties. This process may require a 6 month lead time.

Some events and activities attract fees. Fees for exclusive use of a recreation site or on-line camp bookings must be paid in advance. Payment for events and activities with a per-person charge must be made within 14 days of the end of the event after final numbers are known, unless otherwise arranged. Whenever organising/inviting people or groups of people to an event or gathering for some purpose, the organiser (whether an individual or an organisation) has wide ranging responsibilities in addition to the management of the venue, entertainment or proceedings.
