Roads and Public Places Opening Permit

If you are a contractor or a developer you need to be aware that any excavation that disrupts the area within the Road Reserve i.e. roads, carparks, cyclepaths or foothpaths requires approval from Roads ACT.

To excavate within the Road Reserve you are required to submit the following:

• TCD Transmittal form
• Roads and Public Places Opening Permit ( Word 42Kb)
• Temporary Traffic Management – Conditions of operation form ( Word 53Kb)
• Public Risk Insurance (twenty million dollars)

The Roads and Public Places Opening Permit, Temporary Traffic Management plan and proof of Public Risk Insurance of twenty million dollars will be submitted together at the customer service counter at Macarthur House, 12 Wattle Street, Lyneham, ACT 2602, allow 3 weeks for processing and approval.

All Road Closures (if required) must be submitted for approval 14 working days prior to commencement of works.
