Pay Parking in the City Centre, Woden, Belconnen and Tuggeranong

This page contains information about pay parking in the City Centre, Woden, Belconnen and Tuggeranong.

Pay parking is currently in place in the City Centre, Woden (Phillip), Belconnen, Tuggeranong (Greenway), Dickson, Deakin, Griffith (Manuka) and Kingston.

The Government is keen to improve the efficiency of the road and parking infrastructure by encouraging greater use of public transport, cycling and walking. Pay parking helps to achieve these objectives. Pay parking also encourages the use of Park 'n' Ride and "3 for FREE" facilities, and helps manage the growing demand for car parks.

New parking fees will be introduced in Territory-owned car parks from Monday 25 July 2011. The fee increases will range from $0.50 to $1.50 per day depending on location.

For a copy of a map showing the location of pay parking areas in the City and Town Centres, please refer to the downloads below.  Fees displayed on these maps take effect as of Monday 25 July 2011.

Meter Parking Fees

Fees for premium, on-street parking spaces in metered parking areas will rise progressively between Monday 25 July 2011 and Monday 1 August 2011, as meters are progressively programmed.

These fees are increasing to:

$2.00 per hour in the City, Braddon, Turner and Phillip

$1.60 per hour in Deakin, Dickson, Kingston and Griffith (Manuka)

3 for FREE

The 3 for FREE parking scheme is to encourage commuters travelling to Civic, Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong to carpool.  Motorists who carpool and have three or more people in the vehicle at the time of parking may park all day for free in specially designated carparks.  A daily 3 for FREE ticket can be collected from the booth attendant within the designated carpark between 7.30am and 9.00am Monday to Friday.  The 3 for FREE ticket must be displayed face up on the dashboard with the expiry date and vehicle registration number visible from outside the vehicle.  Maps showing the location of 3 for FREE designated carparks in the City, Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong can be found by scrolling up to the pay parking maps on this page and clicking on the relevant map.
