What Happens to my Household Waste and Recycling?

When your recycling bin is emptied, the truck takes the material to the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Hume. The MRF uses the latest technology and human intervention to sort the recyclables.

Please do not place dangerous or hazardous items in the recycling bin it may present a danger to workers. Never put needles and syringes, syringe disposal containers or medical waste in the recycling bin.
