ACT Dog and Cat Laws
The Domestic Animals Act 2000 and the Animal Welfare Act 1992 are the pieces of legislation in the ACT of relevance to domestic animals.
Both Acts encourage responsible pet ownership, establish the rights of pets and pet owners as well as outline the obligations of pet owners to their animals and to the community.
