Volunteer Dog Walkers

Volunteer Dog walkers are an essential part of Domestic Animal Services because they provide much needed exercise, socialisation and training for the dogs at our Shelter. By volunteering to walk dogs at the shelter you are improving the quality of life for the dogs and improve their chances of finding a life-long home.

It is important that DAS staff, Volunteers and partner organisations (eg ACT Rescue and Foster (ARF), Canberra Pooch Rescue (CPR) work pro-actively together to achieve our common goal of getting abandoned or un-claimed dogs into new homes.

If you wish to find out more information about the DAS Volunteer Dog walker program please visit the DAS facilites on Mugga Lane, Symonston between 10 am-2 pm Monday or Friday for a brief and tour. After the initial briefing our Volunteers may walk dogs during normal office hours.
