Renew your licence to keep four or more dogs

If you have four or more dogs you will need to apply for a licence to keep four or more dogs.

The renewal of a keeper's licence can be made online. Initial permit applications must be made directly to Domestic Animal Services.

To receive a licence to keep four or more dogs, all of your dogs must also be correctly registered. When the application has been received, an inspection will occur to ensure that your facility is appropriate for the type and numbers of dogs that the licence to keep four or more dogs will cover.

The inspection will assess:

• the size of the premises;
• the adequacy of the facilities for keeping dogs;
• the security of the premises; and
• the likelihood of any nuisance to the neighbours.

The transaction cost is listed on your renewal notice.
