Tree Management Precincts
The Tree Protection Act 2005 provides for the declaration of Tree Management Precincts in areas where the urban forest requires particular protection. Tree Management Precincts occur within the built-up urban areas of Canberra and it generally means that all trees on leased Territory land are covered by the Tree Protection Act 2005. Approval is required for all tree damaging activities for trees within Tree Management Precincts.
