Urban Tree Protection in the ACT

The Tree Protection Act 2005  [External Link] was passed by the Legislative Assembly on 22 September 2005. The new legislation has two main components:

The Act commenced on 29 March 2006. Currently, we are in a transition phase in which all suburbs will be Tree Management Precincts to allow a survey for trees to populate the tree register.
