Think Water, Act Water
Everyone in the community, business and government can contribute to the sustainable use and management of our water resources. It's easy. Just think water, act water - think about how you use water every day and act wisely when using this precious resource.
A water resources management strategy for the ACT
Following extensive community involvement and input from a range of experts, the ACT Government released the final water resources strategy Think water, act water – a strategy for sustainable water resources management
on 28 April 2004
It is a long-term strategy focusing on water resource management until 2050.
The strategy aims to improve water use efficiency, reduce water quality impacts, enhance ecological values in waterways and protect recreational and amenity value.
The strategy takes a catchment perspective, and focuses on the integration of stormwater, water supply and wastewater elements to address the challenges, objectives and targets outlined in Water ACT: a draft policy for sustainable water management,
launched by the Government in July 2003.
The ACT Government has now released the Think water, act water 2004-2005 Progress Report
outlining the progress towards achieving the Strategy's Implementation Plan and the results of demand management activities to increase the efficiency of water usage
