Alligator Weed

The ACT Government is determinedly controlling the small but persistent infestations around Canberra to prevent its potential spread downstream, which could cause millions of dollars damage to downstream agriculture and the environment. “Downstream” is a big stretch of waterway: the Murrumbidgee and Murray Rivers, all the way to Adelaide.

Please help!  Become a “spotter”!

Starting in your own backyard, check for alligator weed. Compare your suspect plant to the images in the attached brochure and please call if you think it may be alligator weed.
