Action Plans

Action Plans for protecting threatened species and ecological communities in the ACT
The Nature Conservation Act 1980 ( 877Kb )
requires the Conservator of Flora and Fauna to prepare an Action Plan in response to each declaration of a threatened species, ecological community or threatening process.
An Action Plan outlines conservation and protection proposals for the species or community concerned or proposals to minimise the effect of threatening processes. The primary objective is to maintain for the long term, viable, wild populations of each species (or samples of the ecological community) as components of the indigenous biological resources of the ACT. Each Action Plan must be released as a draft for public comment.
The following Action Plans have been finalised in accordance with the provisions of the Nature Conservation Act 1980. Hard copies are available at $5.50 each.
The Statutory Action Plans for the species marked (*) are now contained in the ACT Lowland Woodland Conservation Strategy (Action Plan No. 27). However, these individual Action plans have been retained on this website as they still contain relevant information on the species or communities.
The Statutory Action Plans for the species marked (**) are now contained in the ACT Lowland Native Grassland Conservation Strategy (Action Plan No. 28). However, these individual Action plans have been retained on this website as they still contain relevant information on the species or communities.
The Statutory Action Plans for the species marked (***) are now contained in the ACT Aquatic Species and Riparian Zone Conservation Strategy (Action Plan No. 29). However, these individual Action plans have been retained on this website as they still contain relevant information on the species or communities.
