Draft ACT Natural Resource Management Plan (2008)

Bush Capital Legacy - iconic city, iconic natural assets

The ACT Natural Resources Management Council is responsible for developing the draft ACT natural resource management plan – Bush Capital Legacy – iconic city, iconic natural assets. It is the outcome of an extensive planning and consultation process.

This plan for managing the ACT’s natural resources is a revision of the territory’s first plan published in 2004, and will replace the previous plan. This new plan takes account of progress made since 2004, changes in values, environmental status and community expectations.  It also proposes more explicit targets to guide investments and ensure that progress to improve sustainability of natural resources is able to be measured and reported.

The Council now needs your comments and ideas on the draft natural resources management plan, Bush Capital Legacy.

Your feedback and suggestions are welcome. You can provide feedback at a community meeting, by completing a feedback form or by talking to a staff member of the NRM Council Secretariat (phone: 6207 5584 or 6205 2914).

The ACT NRM Council will host a series of community meetings throughout Canberra during September 2008 to give the ACT community an opportunity to hear about the plan, ask questions and to put forward their own ideas. Venues, times and dates of these meetings are available on the Council's website.
