About Our Department
CHIEF EXECUTIVE'S MESSAGE
Welcome to Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS)—where all Canberrans benefit from the things we do everyday. In fact, the average resident encounters our services at least 10 times a day!
TAMS was formed on 1 July 2006 when Urban Services, Environment ACT, Australian Capital Tourism, Sport and Recreation ACT, ACTION, Canberra Stadiums and parts of the Office of Sustainability merged into a single department to provide services that Canberra people use all the time.
The TAMS website is an important entry point for everyone to find information on what we are doing around Canberra and the many services we provide. The website will continue to evolve over the next year to make your access to information even easier.
So if you need to know about ‘round town community events, car registrations, our Capital’s tourism, sports and sportsgrounds, parks, public transport, our environment, recycling, bike paths or the many more services we provide for our community—you’re in the right place!
We appreciate community feedback on our services, so please let us know what you think by using our feedback area.
Mike Zissler
Chief Executive
