The upgrade of Constitution Avenue will provide the necessary infrastructure to support future development in the area. As commercial and residential development is progressed along Constitution Avenue the public realm spaces will be upgraded to achieve the visionary design for 2031.
View the Constitution Avenue upgrade page of the website for more details on the project.
The preliminary design of the Constitution Avenue upgrade project has included a visionary design for the length of the road between Vernon Circle and Blamey Crescent. The upcoming construction upgrade of Constitution Avenue will deliver the ‘framework’ for this visionary design which will be realised over future years as residential and commercial development along the corridor progresses.
The vision for Constitution Avenue is described in the National Capital Plan ‘Amendment 60, Constitution Avenue’ with the objective to create a place for people to live, work and socialise. The long term vision aims to provide a vibrant, mixed-use grand boulevard with an integrated transport system, broad tree-lined footpaths, outdoor dining and on-street parking.
Realisation of the visionary design for Constitution Avenue will be coordinated by the National Capital Authority in conjunction with site owners/private developers.
The below documents outline the preliminary design plans for the upgrade of Constitution Avenue.
